View Full Version : Flat-10-To-Follow Comp

Galileo
22nd March 2004, 1:38 PM
Deadline is Sunday 4th April at 12pm for entries. Fiver to enter( though you wont have to part with it until winner is announced) winner gets all teh dosh. Same old rules pick your 10 to follow with a nap(doubles the points). Will put up scoring system later on but it wont be much different to the previous comps Ardross/Graham and I ran. So get thinking! Would be handy if this could be stuck above?

Nice and early entry Dara! Money wont have to be handed over until the competition is over.

Deadline is Sunday the 4th and points start from the 5th Apr to the Breeders Cup Night.

Points system:

Group1:30

Other race: 5

Only Grade 1 races in America and Canada count,Group1s in Germany and Italy while all races count in France,Britain and Ireland.

The entries are not confined to the listing on the Racinpost 10 to follow though the horse has to be in the Racingpost database search.

It's only an opinion Aidan but you're surely starting far too early. Wouldn't it make more sense to start at the Guineas meeting?
I'm not that interested in the flat but I'd have thought that most people who like both codes don't really come away from the jumps until after Aintree at least.

Galileo
30th March 2004, 3:40 PM
Problem is by Guineas time everyone will know the horses, were as now before the trials etc its a bit tougher.

Ardross
30th March 2004, 3:45 PM
when does the Tote comp start

Galileo
30th March 2004, 3:48 PM
Thats usually pretty late.....think after the Guineas even?

Ardross
30th March 2004, 4:00 PM
Is it not after the Craven but before the Guineas - would that not be a better time for your comp Aidan or at least put it back a week to just before the Craven as people have lots of other things on their minds this week

Galileo
30th March 2004, 4:01 PM
Okie dokie.....put it back to the following Sunday?

Aidan,

I haven't been here long so I was wondeing do you normally pick nine horses from the same stable?

Galileo
5th April 2004, 5:39 PM
Normally its 10! :D Dont put too much thought into it.......

HughC
5th April 2004, 5:39 PM
Do the races they win have to be in the RP database or just any horse in the database (if that makes sense)?

Galileo
5th April 2004, 5:41 PM
As long as the horse is in the database its fine but remember only certain races in foreign countries count as earlier stated.

Galileo
6th April 2004, 3:36 PM
A forewarning......I will be sending (very) threatening PM to members this evening to remind them to place their entries. Absence of an entry will lead to dire consequences for that individual :angy:

Ardross
6th April 2004, 3:42 PM
what are they ?

Judging by his performance in the NH comp the punishment is that Aidan will choose our entries for us
